Performers House

We are Performers House, a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing ambitious personalities desiring to forge a career in the medium of  film, theater, stand-up, cinematography, production.  In front of the camera or behind the scenes, if you are driven to be a part of providing wholesome entertainment, you are welcome to be a part of Performers House. 

Our only desire is to help our residents achieve their ultimate goal in the entertainment industry and become the best in their chosen field without sacrificing themselves on the altar of fame. The Los Angeles experience is a roller coaster ride, filled with pitfalls that could sidetrack your goals with costly mistakes. We are here to help you hold onto reality and keep your balance through the fears, the tears, the jeers and ultimately, the cheers. 

Everyone is welcome at any time to go over script ideas, prepare for auditions, sharpen their skills...or just hang out with their friends.  It's a safe haven from the sharks that abound in the rough waters of Hollywood.  Performers House is an industry hub, a home away from home.  We are located in Newhall (also called Newhallywood), named the second safest community in the United States for several years running.

DISCLAIMER: The bar is set very high to become one of our residents.  First of all, we screen head shot submissions for a marketable look (if you're an actor, model, singer, etc.).  Next we review resumes for marketable skills. When we have selected those who have the total package, or come highly recommended, we look to see whether a candidate has truly made preparation for this journey by gaining outside skills that will enable them to support themselves while they pursue their passion.

From the individuals we think are most likely to succeed, we pick the one we feel will have the most positive influence on the industry itself and on its consumers.  We choose only residents who will make the film industry a better place for their involvement in it, good hearts who will 'pay it forward' - opening doors for others just as Performers House will do for them.

We try as well to do a 'soul check' to see if we think a prospective resident is going to use fame to make the world a better place, or squander that potential in egoism and self-promotion. We want to see that a candidate's desire to come to L.A. does not stem from a need to be validated through the acquisition of fame.  We look for those who are driven to come to L.A. because it's the best place to live out their life-long love of the Arts. For these individuals, having a lead role is secondary to the challenge and thrill of breathing life into a meaningful film endeavor.
