In a darkened hospital room, the dream of 14-year-old Katie Gillette was entrusted to her mother as she spoke her last words before succumbing to the deadly disease cystic fibrosis. Her dream was to see other less-fortunate young people have the same opportunities she and her sister had received that had helped make their Hollywood dreams come true. "Please help other kids as if you were doing it for me," Katie Gillette whispered to her mother, Christy Gillette.  

For the last decade, Performers House in Newhall has been the successful fulfillment of that promise.  Many lives have been touched by 'The P.H.' which has offered room, board, training and counseling to young artists, actors, singers, writers and cinematographers who've come not only from here in America but from all over the world - many of whom we see every day on television and in theaters.   

This new year brought news both good and bad for Performers House. The good news is that just a few weeks ago, they received their federal designation as a 501c3 charitable foundation. The troubling news is that the economic climate has forced the property's owner to have to put it up for sale. Since The P.H. is a non-profit, the cost of relocation is prohibitive. Without outside help, they will be shutting their doors on March 31st.  

In order to keep Katie's dream alive, The P.H. is holding an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti CABARET Fundraiser on the evening of Sunday, March 6^th for a minimum donation of $5.  The fundraiser will run from 5pm to 8pm at Desert Streams - 26873 Ruether Avenue in Canyon Country 91351.  You can come anytime during those hours.  Dinner and entertainment will be provided by Performers House residents past and present and the many 'Performers Pals' they've made through the years.  There will also be door prizes and a dessert auction.
